Roccos Hair Salon To Open January 4 In Reading

READING, MA — Early in the new year, Reading is getting a new salon that caters to women, men and children.

Roccos Hair Salon is scheduled to open on Jan. 4, at 77 Haven St. The owner Nick Rocco spent 10 years cutting hair at Kenzo Salon in Stoneham before deciding it was time to go out on his own.

"Last year, I bought a building on Haven Street that consisted of nine residential apartments and 3 commercial spaces on the bottom floor," Rocco told Patch. "When I made that purchase last December, I knew that one of the retail stores would eventually have my own salon in it."

Rocco said he is inviting all of his existing customers and any new customers to the new salon, which Rocco said will be different than what currently is found in town.

"I wanted to design my salon a little differently than most. I wanted to bring a vibe instead of just another hair salon to Reading," Rocco said.

Initially, Rocco will be the lone stylist, though he said he is likely to rent out a second station in the future.

The salon, according to Rocco, will provide coloring services specializing in foils/balayage and haircuts for women, men and children.

"I have three children of my own, so I know what it takes to get kids, even those who hate haircuts, looking good," Rocco said.

According to Rocco, the salon will carry Goldwell as its line of coloring products and Bumble and Bumble as its official styling products.

For the month of January, Rocco said he will be offering 25 percent off to all new and existing clients.

Roccos Hair Salon will be open Wednesday through Saturday. Business hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
