Shell and Dunkin' Donuts Opening on Walkers Brook Drive Next Week

A new Dunkin' Donuts will be opening inside the Shell on Walkers Brook Drive next week. The gas station is owned by longtime Reading resident Rick Camuso and his brother Boxford resident Bill Camuso.

Shortly after the pair purchased the station three years ago, Dunkin' Donuts approached them about possibly adding a donut shop. They had been working with Dunkin' Donuts and the town for about a year to get the proper permits.

Construction started in May and they hope to open next Thursday.

"Everything went great," Rick Camuso said.

He went on to say that he is happy with the completed store and said that the construction crews are still "putting on the finishing touches" to both the gas station and the Dunkin' Donuts.

Everything inside the station will be brand new, he said. The interior was completely gutted and new electrical, plumbing and fixtures were installed. The store is twice as big as it used to be, he said.

The Dunkins will offer a full menu, counter service and will have two drive-through windows to speed up the line. That way, customers ordering a sandwich or something that takes longer to prepare will be able to drive up to the second window allowing the staff to serve the person behind them during the wait period, he said. There will not be a seating area inside.

The owners plan to have a ribbon cutting and grand opening, but neither will happen next week.

“We want to make sure everything is running smoothly before we do something like that,” Rick Camuso said.
