Ska, Reggae Music And More At Reading Skatoberfest Beer Garden

READING, MA — A slate of ska and reggae bands will take the stage at a planned “Skatoberfest” event in Reading later this month, the town recently announced.

The event is set for Saturday, Oct. 22 beginning at 1 p.m. at the Reading Town Common. Festivities will include musical performances by The Attractors with Riki Rocksteady, The Runaround Sound and the New Limits.

Wandering Soul Beer Company, Small Change Brewing Company and Hopothecary Ales will serve drinks.

The event will run until 7 p.m., also offering a variety of food vendors and more.

Skatoberfest is running in tandem with a charity run/walk/ruck 5k, also on Oct. 22 in Reading. Organized by local gym Fitness Within, the race will kick off at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park in Reading.

Proceeds from the race will benefit Home Base, which works to support veterans and their families through various needs.

Race participants are invited to linger in the downtown area during the afternoon to enjoy Skatoberfest.
