String of Car Break-ins Reported

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the Reading Police Department from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 3:17 p.m. Friday, Melissa L. Hiscock, 47, of 107 Fays Avenue, Lynn was arrested on High Street on charges of operating under the influence of liquor and reckless endangerment.

At 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Evan M. Vallera, 28, of 6 Cynthia Lane, Methuen was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, operating with a suspended license and operating without being licensed.

Friday, July 19

  • At 1:22 a.m., a caller reported being grabbed in Oye’s restaurant.
  • At 6:03 a.m., a Howard Street resident reported that the back window in his vehicle was smashed and a backpack was taken.
  • At 6:31 a.m., an Avalon Road resident reported that her vehicle was broken into overnight. Another Avalon Road resident also reported that his vehicle was broken into.
  • At 7:29 a.m., a West Street resident reported that her vehicle was broken into overnight.
  • At 9:01 a.m., an Oak Street resident reported that her vehicle was broken into and a camera bag was taken.
  • At 10:47 a.m., a Summer Avenue resident reported that his vehicle was broken into overnight and a briefcase was taken.

Saturday, July 20

  • At 10:22 p.m., a caller reported an erratic operator on Main Street.

Sunday, July 21

  • At 3:40 a.m., a Sanborn lane resident reported a loud house party.
  • At 4:29 p.m., a caller reported that his wallet and keys were stolen from a locker at the Reading Athletic Club.
