Sign installation will be completed shortly and will dictate traffic to travel eastbound, away from Main street.

December 1, 2021

Please be advised that starting today, December 1, 2021, site work and construction will begin on the old Chronicle building at 531 Main Street. This project will make visibility at the intersection of Main Street and Chapin Ave. very difficult.

For that reason, and the history of past motor vehicle collisions at that intersection, the decision has been made by the town to temporarily make Chapin Ave. a one-way street. Sign installation will be completed shortly and will dictate traffic to travel eastbound, away from Main street.

This was not an easy decision, but was made in the best interest in public safety to lessen the risk of another traffic collision. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please contact Traffic and Safety Officer Mike Scouten (781) 942-6775 with any questions.
