Three Reading Officers Assisted in Boston Tuesday
Mike Fitzgerald, Mike Lee and Matt Edson were sent to the city.

Law enforcement personnel from around the state, including Reading, have been sent to Boston to assist after the tragic marathon bombings.
According to Sergeant Detective Segalla, Reading Police officers Mike Fitzgerald, Mike Lee and Matt Edson were sent to Boston. The officers were deployed by the NEMLEC RRT (Rapid Response Team) to assist with security.
The officers were deployed Tuesday and spent the entire day in the city, Segalla said.

Officers in Wakefield and Lynnfield were also sent to the city to assist.
