Under Sunny Skies, Residents Turn Out For Reading Street Faire
11th annual event brings residents to downtown Reading for food, fun.
READING, Ma. - Under sunny skies that didn't seem possible a week ago, the Dorian-free 11th annual Reading Street Faire brought residents out to enjoy their town Sunday.
As usual, Haven Street was packed from the train depot to Main Street with people, food and fun. Sponsored by the Reading Rotary, the Street Faire started with the annual morning road race. Then it was time to slow down. Reading organizations like the Rotary, the Lions Club, Mission of Deeds, Reading Municipal Light, even the Reading Department of Public Works were present.
And if you arrived at the Street Faire hungry, there was plenty to eat. There were cupcakes, mini-chicken pot pies, pizza, cotton candy, hot dogs, sausages, even a Cookie Monstah. All the major food groups were represented. If you were brave enough, after eating you could jump on the mechanical bull.
