Worker Trapped in Elevator at Meadow View in North Reading

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the  from Wednesday through Thursday. The information is open to the public.

Wednesday, July 4

• At 3:44 a.m., a caller reported a group of kids gathering and causing a disturbance on Lowell Road. Police spoke with a driver of a car in the area, but was insure if the driver was involved. The rest of the group was gone when police arrived.
• At 10:59 a.m., a Concord Street resident reported that his recycling bin was stolen.
• At 3:45 p.m., an Orchard Drive resident reported fireworks in the area. Police spoke with the homeowner setting off the fireworks who agreed to stop.
• At 7:08 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Haverhill Street. Two cars were towed from the scene. One person was transported to the hospital.
• At 7:45 a.m., a caller reported fireworks being set off on Strawberry Lane. Police spoke with the homeowners, but the fireworks did not come from a house on Strawberry Lane.
• At 8:34 p.m., a caller reported youths in the area of Park Street drinking and setting off fireworks. Police spoke to the youths and sent them on their way.
• At 8:43 p.m., a caller reported fireworks in the area of Janice Avenue. Police checked the area, but did not find anything.
• At 9:00 p.m., a caller reported fireworks in the area of George Root Way. Police spoke to the homeowners who agreed to stop for the night.
• At 9:01 p.m., a caller reported severe weather close to North Reading. Residents at the .
• At 9:19 p.m., a Park Street resident reported that his house was struck by lightning. A power line was down and RMLD responded.
• At 9:38 p.m., an employee from Meadow View Care and Rehab Center reported that they lost power and someone was stuck in the elevator. The reported that a worker was stuck in the elevator, but okay. An employee from the elevator company responded and RMLD turned the power on.

Thursday, July 5

• At 2:14 a.m., a Fairbanks Lane reported that his mailbox was just damaged by a vehicle. Police checked the area but could not locate the vehicle.
• At 6:08 a.m., an emergency caller reported that a car almost ran her off the road on Chestnut Street. Police checked the area but could not locate the vehicle.
• At 8:23 a.m., a Fairbanks Lane resident reported that her mailbox was damaged the night before. Her neighbors was also damaged.
• At 8:59 a.m., a Burditt Road resident reported that a utility pole on his street was struck sometime the night before.
• At 11:48 a.m., a Park Street resident reported that his mailbox was damaged.
• At 11:51 a.m., a caller reported that her credit card was used fraudulently.
• At 6:43 p.m., a Marblehead Street resident reported that a Verizon worker was soliciting at her house despite a no trespassing sign on her property. Police searched the area but could not find the solicitor.
