5 Things: Open Mic of Rozzie Reads Poetry
On Thursday is plenty of deals, discounts, special food and drinks in Roslindale Village with a Third Thursday evening of events.

- On Thursday is a bunch of sales, discounts, enterintament and more with Third Thursday, a Roslindale Village Main Street sponsored evening. and helped organize the Summer Stroll and the Holiday Wander. Area businesses will have things such a cooking demo, drink and food offerings. For more info on each business click here.
- On Thursday, the Friends of The Roslindale Library are hosting a free Open Mic of Rozzie Reads Poetry. All are welcome for an evening of poetry in English and other languages featuring poets Charllot Lucien and Yvette Modestin at 7:30 p.m. and the open mic at 8:15 p.m. when all are welcome to read. Select Cafe. 2 Belgrade Ave.
- The newly-renovated Flaherty Pool will reopen on June 29, with a grand opening celebration on July 9. Jump in and get wet!
- Registration is now open to win the 15th annual Mayor of Roslindale contest to help raise funds for the Roslindale Day Parade. Prospective candidates solicit donations for $1 each, with each dollar counting as one vote. The winner of the contest will be honored as this year’s “Mayor of Roslindale” in the 38th annual parade on October 6, 2013. Click here to register.
- Boston homeowners who are over the age of 60 may qualify for the Senior Citizen’s Property Tax Work-Off Program, which provides limited tax relief. For an application or more information, call Greg Josselyn at 617-635-4250. Deadline for applications is July 1.
