Walkasins Study for Individuals with Peripheral Neuropathy

Are you between the ages of 65&ndash;90 years old and experiencing memory and mobility concerns? The Home tDCS for MCR Research Study may be for you! Researchers at the Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research Center in Boston, Massachusetts are conducting a research study aiming to improve memory and mobility in older adults through the use of non-invasive brain stimulation done in the comfort of their own home with the help of a caregiver. 
This study is designed for individuals who have not been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer&rsquo;s disease and who have a caregiver (such as a family member or friend) willing to assist with the at-home stimulation sessions (training will be provided). Participants will visit the research center for 7 study visits involving health interviews, memory, cognitive, and mobility testing as well as 1 blood draw and 3 separate MRI brain scan visits. In addition, they will complete daily 20-minute brain stimulation sessions at home, Monday through Friday, for approximately 6&frac12; months. All necessary training and equipment will be provided, and transportation or parking is available for study visits.
