Adams Park In Roslindale To Get New Tree, Benches After Storm

After a hail storm damaged a tree and several benches in Roslindale, the City of Boston says it plans to replace them

Roslindale’s Adams Park is going to receive a little makeover after a big hailstorm last week destroyed three benches and a large Linden tree.

The tree was estimated to be about 100 years old. It damaged the three benches when it fell on top of them during the storm, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department said.

The Department says it will likely cost around $500 to replant the tree.

The benches, on the other hand, are expected to cost $2,000 each. They are expected to be in place by some time next month, the Department said.

The financing for the new tree and benches will come out of the Parks budget, the Department said.

This is the second time in the last year Adams Park is undergoing changes. The Park was reconstructed last summer with new benches and trees, and unveiled last October.
