Archdale Community Center Being Renamed after Mayor Menino in Roslindale
The Archdale Community Center is being reopened and renamed in honor of Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.

The Archdale Community Center will be renamed in honor of Boston Mayor Thomas Menino during a ceremony on Monday.
The city-owned center will host an open house on Monday, July 29 starting at 5 p.m. to talk to residents about programs and services at the center, according to the Boston Centers for Youth & Families Facebook page. The center was closed in December for renovations that include a new gym floor, a rock-climbing wall, a new roof, new heating and ventilation systems, and air conditioning system upgrades.
"Our outgoing Mayor has given Roslindale some great going-away presents with the renovations of the Archdale building and the recently-re-opened Flaherty swimming Pool. The buildings are something to be proud of," said Dennis Kirkpatrick, longtime Roslindale resident and community organizer including board president for the Roslindale Community School Council.
The dedication will take place at 6:30 p.m. at 125 Brookway Road in Roslindale.
