Keogh, City Council Candidate, Talks Schools with Parents
Martin Keogh of West Roxbury is running citywide for the Boston City Council
At-Large Boston City Councilcandidate Martin Keogh battled the heat to talk to parents at Hynes Playground in West Roxbury recently to talk about improving the Boston Public Schools.
Keogh is an attorney mainly representing juveniles and indigent clients who dropped out of high school at 17.
“It (dropping out of high school) is a painful part of my life that I wish I could change. But I am using my personal experience to help other kids at risk. If I can prevent other kids from making the same mistakes, and put them onto the path of success, I would consider this is a greater personal accomplishment.”
Keogh obtained his GED, went to Boston College and graduated Mass School of Law, becoming an attorney in 1999.
Expanded police patrols in Boston’s neighborhoods, arts, music and sports in every public school and better city services, particularly snow and trash removal, are on Keogh’s campaign agenda.
