Parkway hero Carlos Arrendondo joined bombing survivor Jeff Bauman to throw out first pitches at the Red Sox game. Arredondo will be cutting a ceremonial ribbon at the Roslindale Village Farmers' Market this Saturday.
Boston Marathon hero, Carlos Arredondo, joined Jeff Bauman, the bombing victim he wheelchaired to get help, to throw out ceremonial first pitches at the Red Sox Tuesday night game.
Arredondo, of the Parkway area, wore his cowboy hat, now made famous by all the videos and photos he's shown up in since the bombing. Arredondo threw to Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, while Bauman throw to catch Jarrod Saltalamacchia - and both throws made it to the catchers without a skip in the dirt.

"RVMS (Roslindale Village Main Street) is thrilled that Carlos and Melida Arredondo have agreed to join us on opening day of the farmers’ market and to help kick-off the event by cutting the ceremonial ribbon," said Christina DiLisio, executive director of Roslindale Village Main Street. "Carlos and Melida have been Roslindale (Village) Farmers’ Market enthusiasts for years – given this, and given Carlos’ role in the recovery efforts of the Marathon Monday bombing, it seemed only natural that RVMS honor and thank them in this way."
