From hanging with Oprah to resting comfortably after having prostate surgery - what a difference one day makes.  On Thursday, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino got to joke around with media emperoress Oprah Winfrey, while he received an honorary doctorate degree at Harvard University's annual commencement exercises. On Friday, Menino checked into Brigham and Women's Hospital for a common elective surgery to relieve problems caused by an enlarged prostate, which is a common problem for men Menino's age. The surgery had been planned. "The procedure, which went very well, lasted approximately two hours and the Mayor is now in recovery resting comfortably," said Dr. Kevin Loughlin, professor of surgery for Harvard Medical School and Brigham, in a press statement. "He will remain at the Brigham for at least the next few days while we monitor his recovery and progress."
