The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department log.
Friday, March 16
- At 6:26 p.m., police responded to Ober Street for a report of a neighbor on another street with two pitbulls that he allows to run around loose. The complaint was forwarded to the Animal Control Officer.
- A minor car accident was reported on North Street at 6:27 p.m.
- At 7:44 p.m., police placed a man in protective custody after he was observed highly intoxicated behind
- At 8:25 p.m., police received a report of possible sexual activity in the gazebo on the Common. The people told police they were trying to keep warm. Police sent them on their way.
- At 9:53 p.m., police received a call about a suspicious woman on First Street. When police arrived, they observed a woman dancing in the doorway on a First Street residence. The woman told police she is "an aspiring actress and felt like dancing." Police told her to go inside.
Saturday, March 17

- A resident of Abbott Street told police he awoke at 1:57 a.m. after hearing a loud noise. He discovered his home had been egged and a group of teens running away. The man "gave chase" but lost them, he told police.
- At 9:17 a.m., a resident of Bow Street reported their home and car were egged overnight.
- At 9:43 a.m., an injured seagull was reported on the James Ayube Bypass Road. The seagull was moved to a safe area.
- At 3:37 p.m., a business owner reported one of the shacks across from the , had been smashed. The Building Inspector was notified.
- At 5:47 p.m., an injured hawk was reported in Harmony Grove. Animal Control was notified, the hawk was dead on arrival.
- At 7:26 p.m., a pit fire was reported on Becket Street. The home owner was extinguishing the fire when the arrived.
- At 10:53 p.m., a woman was placed into protective custody after causing a disturbance in
- At 11:06 p.m., police responded to Loring Avenue for a report of a past assault. A man told police he was punched in the face at Fantasy Island. The bartender told police they asked the man to leave after one drink and he did but then came back and got into a pushing match with an unknown man. Police told the man not to go to the restaurant.
- At 11:07 p.m., police made a motor vehicle stop on Harbor Street. Police observed the driver to be carrying a steak knife and had an "eight-ball" of cocaine on him. Ronald Gomez was arrested (see below).
Sunday, March 18
- At 6:50 a.m., police found a tree had been knocked down at the intersection of Bridge and Washington streets.
- At 12:28 p.m., the Harbormaster was notified a boat had capsized off shore. The Harbormaster rescued three people after the sail on their catamaran broke and they had to paddle in. The three did not go in the water and had life vests on.
- At 1:10 p.m., police received a report of a dead porpoise washed up off Turner Street, behind the. The New England Aquarium responded to take photographs and assess the situation.
- At 3:44 p.m., heavy smoke was seen from a roof on Federal Street. The Salem Fire Department responded and found a faulty generator.
- At 4:05 p.m., kids with bb guns were reported on Linden Street.

- Jose Miguel Jimilian, 22, Homeless, Salem, was arrested on a warrant.
- Edwin Timothy Marsh, 49, 26 Endicott St., Danvers, was arrested on a warrant.
- Roberto Carlos Padilla, 23, 184 Eutaw Ave., Lynn, was arrested on a city ordinance against drinking in public.
- Andrew M. Deleary, 22, 16 Oak Point Road, Saugus, was arrested and charged with speeding greater than reasonable, illegal possession of a class B substance, having defective equipment, one way street violation and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
- Ronald Gomez, 21, 121 Rainbow Terrace, Salem, was charged with illegal possession of class B drugs, seatbelt violation and violating the city knife ordinance.
- Justin Christopher Twitchell, 32, 346 Essex St., Swampscott, was arrested on a warrant.
- Michael I Reyes, 17, 15 Harrison Ave., Salem, was arrested on a warrant.
