Baseball Umpires Needed On North Shore
The North Shore Baseball Umpires Association is offering a course to certify umps for games from Little League to men's leagues.
DANVERS, MA — With a baseball umpire shortage across the state, the North Shore Baseball Umpires Association is offering a course to certify prospective umps how to work games from Little League to men's leagues.
The course offers complete training ahead of the Massachusetts Baseball Umpires Association certification.
The course is open to those 17 years old with candidates needing to be 18 or older to ump high school games.

The five-week course begins on Jan. 26 and runs on Mondays through February, with the exam on March 1.
The in-person course is held at Essex Tech in Danvers from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each night.

There is also an online option with readings, videos, quizzes and a final exam.
