Bridge Repair Work, Lane Closures Start Sunday at Rt. 95/1
MassDOT is asking drivers to seek alternative routes during bridge work at the I-95/Route 1 interchange in Peabody.

Submitted by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation:
Beginning on Sunday, Aug. 3 and continuing nightly through Wednesday, Aug. 6 either the two left lanes on I-95 southbound will be closed OR the ramp from the Route 1 Connector (Route 129) to I-95 southbound and the first travel lane on I-95 southbound at the bridge will be closed between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. to allow work crews to repair a bridge beam that was struck and damaged by an over height truck.
When the ramp from the Route 1 Connector (Route 129) to I-95 southbound and the first travel lane on I-95 southbound at the bridge is closed, traffic will be detoured to Route 1 southbound then at Route 129, traffic will be directed to Route 1 northbound then to the ramp to I-95 southbound.

On the I-95/Route 1 Connector (Route 129) to I-95 southbound, the travel lane will be reduced to 12 feet over the full length of the bridge over I-95.
MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, to avoid delays. Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect some delays and should reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
