Car Stolen From Hillside Avenue Driveway

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police log:
Thursday, March 15
- At 4:55 p.m., police responded to Palmer Street for a reported fight in the street. The parties were gone when police arrived but a woman on Palmer Street said two male parties were pushed into her car and caused two dents.
- At 5:03 p.m., a resident of Mason Street reported she was at thewhen a woman in a red vehicle stopped, got out and punched her in the face. The woman then got back into her vehicle and drove off, according to the woman. The woman who was punched did not get a license plate number.
- At 5:15 p.m., a resident of a Pacific Street apartment reported her cable box was stolen from her apartment.

- At midnight, a man reported his ex-girlfriend was missing. The woman's parents had also not seen her in 24 hours. The woman was entered into the missing persons system.
- A hypodermic needle was found at at 1:43 a.m.
- At 1:44 a.m., a resident of Barton Square reported a man yelling at her car, which was parked in the parking lot. The man was placed in protective custody.
- At 3:28 a.m. a youth dressed in black, standing in the street, was reported on Jefferson Avenue. The male said he was upset with his girlfriend for not talking to him. According to police, "the male was sent on his way with words of wisdom."
- At 5:22 a.m., police responded to on Boston Street, for a report of a cash drawer stolen. The employee told police when he arrived to work, the door was open but not forced open and the drawer and some coins were missing. The estimated total amount stolen was $207.
- At 8:07 a.m., a resident reported receiving threatening phone calls from an unknown party. It turned out to be a prank by a friend.
- At 9:35 a.m. turkeys were reported in the street on Orne Street. There were no turkeys when police arrived.
- At 12:21 p.m. a car was reported stolen on Hillside Avenue. The resident said his car was locked prior to the theft and was stolen from the driveway sometime overnight.
- At 2:59 p.m. a minor motor vehicle accident was reported on North Street.
- A drunk individual on a skateboard was reported on Lafayette Street. Police did not find the person.
- A 5 p.m. a telephone scam was reported by a Turner Street resident.
Arrests
- Joseph Ryan Couto, 27, 1 Cosmos Drive, Peabody, was arrested on a warrant and charged with illegal possession of a class A substance.
- Edwin Timothy Marsh Jr., 49, 26 Endicott St., Peabody, was arrested on a warrant.
- Joseph P. Styczko, 53, 56 Margin St., Salem, was arrested on a warrant.
