The project will develop a plan to make the Point community more resilient to climate change. The plan will include:
- Predictions of future flooding from sea level rise, storm surge, and rain;
- An assessment of vulnerable populations and community assets affected by future flooding; and
- Specific recommendations to make the community more resilient to future flooding and extreme heat.
The City will use the plan to guide future projects, programs, or policy changes.
Climate change is a major risk for Salem. There are several city-wide plans to address this challenge. The City's first plan to focus on a specific neighborhood is Resilient Together: El Punto.
