As Courts Reopen, Salem Will Resume Parking Charges
With some court activities scheduled to resume on June 1, the city will resume collecting parking fees in some sections of the city.

SALEM, MA — Essex County courts are scheduled to resume some in-person activities beginning June 1, meaning the free parking perk of Salem's coronavirus response will soon be over.
The city said Monday it will begin collecting parking fees in the following lots and garages when courts re-open Monday:

- Church Street east and west lots
- City’s surface lot at the MBTA station
- former Universal Steel lot on Bridge Street
- Old Salem Jail lot
- Salem Green lot
- South Harbor Garage
- Museum Place Garage.
Those parking in the lots are encouraged to use the Passport parking app if possible.
