Fire Rips Through Salem Aprtment Complex

SALEM, MA —Salem fire fighters spent several hours putting out a fire in a North pine Street apartment building early Sunday morning.

The fire in the 3.5-story apartment building was reported before 6 a.m. Sunday and reached two alarms. Fire fighters were still working to put out spots as of 8:30 Sunday morning.

It's unclear how many units or residents were affected. The fire started in the basement and spread through the walls and ceilings of the building.
