Golf Hole Flags Burned on Golf Course

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police log.
Wednesday, March 21
- At 9:06 p.m., police were called to Warren Street for a man and woman yelling. Upon arrival, police found an intoxicated woman trying to drive away with a child in the car. Police arrested Jennifer J. Barrett (see below). A man was placed into protective custody.

- A loud group was moved from the basketball courts on the Common at 12:18 a.m.
- At 12:43 a.m., fireworks were reported on Charter Street.
- At 7:05 a.m., an employee of the Salem Golf Course flagged down an officer on Willson Street. The person told police two golf hole flags were burned and T box markers were thrown into the woods. The golf starters shack was also entered and things were thrown around.
- At 9:27 a.m., a resident of Hazel Street reported he was scammed. The man told police he answered an ad to be a "secret shopper." He gave the company his personal information and they mailed him a package with two counterfeit postal money orders for $950. The letter outlined he should cash the orders, keep $250 and send the rest to the Philippines.
- At 2:15 p.m., police were called to Hancock Street for a report of a group drinking in public. Police found a group of men sitting outside, no alcohol was present.
- At 3:27 p.m., police were called to Herbert Street for the second time in one day for a woman screaming. The woman told police she was not screaming but was just talking to her grandson. Police told her to keep her voice down.
- At 4:03 p.m., Salem Fire Department responded to a porch fire on Loring Avenue.
The following people were arrested:
- Jennifer J. Barrett, 42, 3 Becket Ave., was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol (second offense), resisting arrest and child endangerment.
- James P. Cloutman, 27, 5 Heritage Dr., was charged with illegal possession of class A drugs.
- Francisco Trinidad, 61, 9 Colonial Tr., was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of property damage and a one way street violation.
- Vincenzo Frank Mannone, 24, 26 Burnham St., Gloucester, was charged with illegal possession of class A drugs.
- Benjamin Andrew Muise, 23, 44 Mount Vernon St., Gloucester, was charged with illegal possession of class A drugs.
