Heritage Days on Monday, Aug. 4: Salem's Best Pizza Contest, Mayor's Night Out
Heritage Days on Monday includes Salem's Best Pizza Contest on the Common and a free Salem Community Concert Band concert at Salem Willows.

The fourth day of the Salem Heritage Days on Monday, Aug. 4 includes Mayor’s Night Out and Best Pizza Contest. Here’s the schedule for Monday:
“Huzzah for History!” at the House of the Seven Gables; 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Come by the spectacular house made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and venture back into Salem’s maritime history! Families can pick up a Navigation Packet at the visitor center, which includes a ship’s log and compass, and begin their voyage of discovery navigating around the museum grounds! The Navigation Packet is available all day during Heritage Days and is included as part of the general admission price: $12.50 for adults, $11.50 for seniors age 65 and up and $7.50 for ages 5-12.

Each day, experience several unique activities at the House of the Seven Gables as you step back into early New England and learn about the timeless tales of Salem’s famous author Nathaniel Hawthorne, Lacemaking and Colonial Toys and Games. Mayor’s Night Out; 5-7 p.m.
Join Mayor Kimberley Driscoll for a tour of three of Salem’s hot dining spots! Tickets are $20 per person and include hors d’oeuvres sampler and cash bar at three Pickering Wharf restaurants - Brodie’s Seaport, Victoria’s Station and Capt’s Waterfront Bar & Grill. Salem’s Best Pizza Competition; 5-7 p.m.
Salem Common
Come decide which Salem restaurant has the best pizza. Bring the whole family. They will award the top adult and kids pick. $5 for adults and $3 for children. For more information call the Salem YMCA at 978-744-0351.
The Paul Madore Chorale Summersing; 8-9 p.m.
Old Town Hall
The Chorale’s annual SummerSing is an informal way of singing the choral classics with guest conductor, volunteer orchestra, guest soloists from the greater Boston area - all with audience participation. For the first event - join Conductor Jeffrey Brody of the Salem Philharmonic Orchestra as he conducts Orff’s Carmina Burana. $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students.
Salem Community Concert Band and Community Jazz Band; 7-8:30 p.m.
Salem WIllows Band Shell
Come listen to two bands made up of Salem residents from grade 8 through adult. Led under the direction of Cynthia Napierkowski, director of the Salem High School Band. In the event of rain, concert will be held at Salem High School Auditorium. Free.
