SALEM, MA — The new coronavirus outbreak in Massachusetts and across the country is having vast impacts in Salem. Patch has compiled this round-up of the latest, local coronavirus news.

Salem had 74 confirmed coronavirus cases as of Monday afternoon. Last week Salem had 8.35 cases per 10,000 residents, one of the highest rates of coronavirus infection in 27 communities reviewed by Patch.

On Tuesday, Market Basket said that a woman who worked at its Salem store had died of COVID-19. Meanwhile, Zoom-bombers targeted last week's virtual meeting of Salem City Council.
