More Coronavirus Testing, More Massachusetts Cases
There were 112 new COVID-19 cases in Massachusetts Saturday, bringing the state's total to 525.

BOSTON, MA —The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 525 total coronavirus cases in Massachusetts Saturday, up 112 from 413 in Friday.
It was the single biggest one-day increase in new coronavirus cases, a jump that was anticipated as the state ramps up efforts to test more people with symptoms. On Saturday, Gov. Charlie Baker said testing capacity has continued to increase in Massachusetts. The state completed 962 test Friday, up from 520 Wednesday.
"You would expect to see more cases as you conduct more tests," Baker said. "That does not necessarily more people now have coronavirus."
