Family friendly event: 4-6 p.m., Old Town Hall, $5 suggested donation

Salem Main Streets, Creative Salem, and the City of Salem are partnering up to throw a New Year's Eve party "like Salem has never seen before." There's an early, family-friendly event from 4 to 6 p.m. for the cost of a $5 suggested donation
This is the 4th annual family-friendly event at Old Town Hall, and includes hat making, a photo booth, a silent kid's disco, face painting, arcade games courtesy of Bit Bar, and an early countdown before 6 p.m.
The later party will see historic Old Town Hall turn into a black light dance hall with live performances, adult hat making, a cash bar, and food. The countdown will take place inside and outside at midnight. Purchase tickets online here.
The Village Tavern
The Party, reservations accepted for 5 to 9 p.m., party starts after 9 p.m., The Village Tavern, no cover.
Reserve a NYE dinner part between 5 and 9 p.m., or hit the party after 9. There will be a live five-piece band, and the tavern's full menu will be available all night. Grab your complimentary hats, noisemakers, and other party favors before they run out.
Rockafellas
New Year's Eve Celebration: 8:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m., Rockafellas, $25 cover includes party favors and entertainment.
Bit Bar
New Year's Eve Dance Party: 10 p.m., Bit Bar, no cover.
The Bit Bar crew will move some tables out of the way, hit the funky lights, and jam out to the new year for no cover charge.
Opus Underground
Guns N' Roses New Year's Eve, 9 p.m., Opus Underground, $30 in advance, $35 at the door.
Guns N' Roses tribute band Cocaine Tongue and Metallica tribute band Master of Beers will ring in the New Year in a retro way. A $100 gift card will be awarded to the best 80's hair band/metal getup. Buy your tickets now to save.
Gulu Gulu Cafe
New Year's Eve Carnival, 9 p.m., Gulu Gulu, $10 plus unlimited popcorn and cotton candy and live performances from BlackDogBrother.
Murphy's
New Year's at Murphy's Salem, 10 p.m., Murphys, advance tickets $10, special guest DJ Flyy Home.
