NSMC Names New Chief Of Cardiology
Dr. Howard Waldman will succeed Dr. David Roberts as Chief Of Cardiology effective Apr. 1.

From NSMC: Howard Waldman, M.D., Ph.D., has been named Chief of Cardiology at North Shore Medical Center (NSMC). He succeeds David Roberts, M.D., who will become NSMC’s new president April 1. Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Waldman has been on staff at NSMC since 1991. He was appointed as the medical director of the catheterization laboratory in 1993 and was instrumental in the development of NSMC’s Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) program that opened in 2003. Dr. Waldman will assume responsibilities as Chief of Cardiology effective April 1, and will continue in his role as medical director of the catheterization lab and PCI at NSMC.
“Dr. Waldman brings a wealth of clinical and leadership talent to his new role,” says Dr. Roberts. “As a result of his collaborative style and focus on quality, he has developed excellent relationships across our organization and the Partners HealthCare system.”
Dr. Waldman received his Ph.D. from Georgetown University and his medical degree from The State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed his internal medicine residency at North Carolina Memorial Hospital, and received his training in general cardiology, interventional cardiology and congenital heart disease at Massachusetts

General Hospital (MGH). He has served as an attending physician in the catheterization lab at MGH since 1987.
