Obituary: Edward Jaworski, 76, Compiled SHS Football Stats for Many Years

Edward Jaworski, 76, of Peabody, formerly of Salem, died on Wednesday.

Edward Jaworski, 76, of Peabody, formerly of Salem, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at his home.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Edward and Catherine (Birmingham) Jaworski. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.

Jaworski had been employed for many years in the maintenance department of Salem State College until the time of his retirement.

An avid sports fan, Ed volunteered his time for many years compiling the statistics for the Salem High School football team. His love of sports was not only local as he was a passionate Notre Dame fan and enjoyed rooting for the Red Sox and Bruins. He was a long time resident of the city of Salem until recently moving to Peabody where he volunteered with the meals program at the Torigian Center in Peabody. He was a cigar aficionado.

Edward is survived by his friend Kathleen M. Burke of Salem.

His funeral will be held from The O’Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq., at Salem Common, in Salem, Monday, Aug. 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., followed by his funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Polish Church, St. Peter Street, Salem at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
