Shirley L. (Davis) Attridge, 85, of Exeter, N.H. and formerly of Beverly and Salem, died Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, N.H.
Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Walter A. and Marquerite A. (Watson) Davis. Shirley was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Beverly.

Shirley was employed at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem for many years, prior to her retiring from Hogan Regional Center where she worked for 20 years as a caring Occupational Therapist. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley also enjoyed traveling, antiquing and needlepoint. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her son, James F. Attridge and his wife, Leigh of Beverly, her five daughters, Paula M. Hilliard and her husband, Russell of Hampton Falls, N.H.; Maureen R. Kulak and her husband, Edward of Brentwood, N.H.; Elizabeth A. Baillargeon and her husband, Mark of Newmarket, N.H.; Joanna C. L’Italian and her husband, Thomas of Salem; and Julie J. Bonauito and her husband, Frank of Amesbury; a son in law, Larry Pierce of Salem, her sister, Marquerite H. McKnight of Florida; her 21 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and nieces and nephew. Shirley was predeceased by her daughter, Marian Pierce, her son, John M. Attridge, her two grandsons, Lucas and Padric Pierce and her brother, Walter (Sonny) Davis.

Funeral services will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, on Friday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no Visiting Hours. Burial will be in Spring Street Cemetery in Essex. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association 55 Wacker Dr. Suite 1150, Chicago, IL. 60601.
