Police and Fire Respond to Rollover on School Street

Emergency crews used the Jaws of Life to free woman from accident.

A woman was transported to the hosptial after the car she was driving flipped twice before coming to rest on the roof at the corner of School and Buffum streets Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Shortly before 5 p.m., police and fire crews were called to the scene after a red Ford Explorer was involved in an accident with a Jeep and flipped over. Fire fighters used the Jaws of Life to pull the middle-aged woman from the vehicle. The driver of the Jeep refused medical attention.

The woman was concious and speaking with EMTs as crews placed her in the ambulance to transport her to Salem Hospital.
