Power Problems Knock Out T Trains for Hours, Force Substitute Buses

Power problems on the MBTA blue line on Tuesday morning forced substitute busing and delays on Tuesday.

Buses replaced blue lines trains on the North Shore for over eight hours on Tuesday because of a power problem, according to the MBTA.

The problem started before the rush hour began - before 6 a.m. - and affected five stations in Revere and East Boston. Buses ran from Wonderland to Orient Heights. The power problem was at Revere Beach Station.

By 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the buses has been “phased out,” according to the T, in time for the start of the evening rush hour.
