Rita D. (Herrick) LaBonte, 68, of Lynn and formerly of Salem, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late Albert LaBonte.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Jeannette (Dupuis) Herrick. Widowed at a young age, Rita devoted all of her time and love to her family. She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. The family moved to Lynn from Salem 35 years ago. She will be missed by many.

Rita is survived by three daughters, Joanne and Linda LaBonte and Lisa Esteban, all of Lynn, 13 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, J. Richard LaBonte and brother, Leslie Herrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114/1A] Salem on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 from 12-1:30 p.m. to be followed by a graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem at 2 p.m.
