“Please plan accordingly,” city officials said in an announcement on Thursday.

The race starts at the Fort Avenue end of Derby Street and heads toward the downtown, finishing near Pickering Wharf.

To celebrate its 10th year, there will be a barbecue for runners near the finish line with either a hotdog or hamburger, chips and a bottle of water. The cost of the barbecue is $5 in advance or $8 per person on Friday night.

The entry fee is $16 for runners who pre-register and $18 on race day. There is a special entry fee of $45 for families of three or more people.

The top five male and female runners will get an award and all kids will receive a finisher medal.

All of the proceeds from the race go to the Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services Department.
