Salem Coronavirus: Library Stops Lending Books
The Salem Public Library had been offering curbside checkout of books and other library materials.
SALEM, MA —The Salem Public Library stopped a curbside checkout program that had been put in place after the facility was closed to help slow the spread of coronavirus.
In an update Thursday, Salem officials said the library will no longer offer the service as it tries to help curb the spread of the virus. Patrons with books and other materials still checked out can return them in the book drop at the front of the building.
Patrons with outstanding requests for materials can call 978-744-0860 to make arrangements to fulfill those requests. Online services and resources all continue to be available at www.salempl.org.
