Salem Couple Welcomes North Shore Medical Center's First Baby of 2017
Hundreds of babies will be born at NSMC this year, but only one baby can be the first of the year.

SALEM, MA — Hundreds of new baby boys and girls will be born in North Shore Medical Center's birthplace in 2017. However, only one couple gets to call their baby the first baby to be born at the hospital in 2017.
According to the hospital, Deina Diaz and Justin Lessard of Salem welcomed Jahriel Diaz-Lessard at 8:16 p.m. on Jan. 1. The new baby boy weighed in at seven pounds, eight ounces.
