Salem Downtown Emergency Alert System Test Set For Tuesday
Halloween visitors to the Witch City will hear a series of loud tones followed by a pre-recorded test message.
SALEM, MA — Downtown Witch City Halloween revelers should not be alarmed on Tuesday if they hear a series of tones followed by a recorded message early in the afternoon as the city tests its new mass emergency notification system.
The newly installed system will be tested at 1 p.m.
The mass notification system is intended to inform the public of emergency situations and actions to be taken.

Tuesday's message is only a test.
