The ninth day of the Salem Heritage Days on Saturday, Aug. 9 includes the Essex Street Fair and a Berklee Summer Music Series concert. Here’s the schedule for Saturday:
Essex Street Fair
Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9 and 10, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Essex Street Pedestrian Mall
Fun for all ages, This street festival has something for everyone. Crafts, jewelry, paintings, stained glass, and other unique items will be featured by vendors along the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall.

Shelter to Showpiece Tour; 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Peabody Essex Museum
Come tour the historic houses at the Peabody Essex Museum and experience three centuries of extraordinary New England architecture, set in Federal-style gardens, that is found within one city block next to the museum. The tour free with museum admission to out-of-town patrons and admission and the tour are free to Salem residents. Space is limited and is based on first come, first serve. Everyone must check in at the admission desk before the tour.

“Huzzah for History!”; 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
The House of the Seven Gables, 115 Derby St.
Come by the spectacular house made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and venture back into Salem’s maritime history! Families can pick up a Navigation Packet at the visitor center, which includes a ship’s log and compass, and begin their voyage of discovery navigating around the museum grounds! The Navigation Packet is available all day during Heritage Days and is included as part of the general admission price: $12.50 for adults, $11.50 for seniors age 65 and up and $7.50 for ages 5-12.
Improv on the Bricks
Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9 and 10, 3-4 p.m.
Derby Square, off Front Street
Join Salem Theatre for their annual free improv comedy bash. Bring a lawn chair! Bring padding! It’s improv on a hard surface and anything can happen.
Berklee Summer Music Series presents “Sarah McKenzie”; 5-7 p.m.

Salem Jazz and Soul Festival will be hosting its Summer Music Series featuring Berklee College of Music students. Sarah McKenzie was mentored by legends like Graeme Lyall, Jamie Oehlers, James Morrison, and, most recently, JoAnne Brackeen, the first and only female member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. McKenzie also sang backing vocals for Michael Bublé on the multiplatinum artist’s Call Me Irresponsible tour and was the opening act for five-time Grammy nominee Chris Botti in 2011. Free.
