Salem To Host Trunk-Or-Treat Halloween Event And Costume Contest

The event will take place on Oct. 28 in the parking lot of the Ingram Senior Center. There will be candy giveaways, pizza, games and music.

SALEM, NH — The Town of Salem has announced details of its annual Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Event and Costume Contest.

The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Ingram Senior Center, 1 Sally Sweets Way. The event is for children ages 12 and under and residents are asked to email dcole@salemnh.gov with the total number of child participants who will attend. The deadline to register is Oct. 24.

Residents are encouraged to wear costumes and bring their own bags for trick-or-treating.

According to organizers, the event will offer residents a chance to gather candy and other giveaways at the trunk-or-treat set up by various participating organizations.

The event also will feature pizza, games, music, entertainment and the costume contest. Plus, there will be a haunted forest.

The annual costume contest will take place at 6 p.m. for ages 5 and under, 6:20 p.m. for ages 6 to 9 and at 6:40 p.m. for ages 10 to 12. The Recreation Advisory Committee members will judge the contest and will select winners in each age group for Most Original, Scariest and Best Presentation. Prizes will be awarded.

Organizers said the entry point to the event will be the trail entrance located behind the Salem District Court House. Those attending the event should park at the Court House, Town Hall or the upper high school lots. There will be no parking available at the Ingram Senior Center.
