Salem Launches Felt Street Fire Victim Relief Fund
The fire occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday.
SALEM, MA — Salem has launched relief fund efforts for those left displaced by a house fire that ripped through a Felt Street home early Sunday morning.
Those who are aware of any available apartments for the victims are encouraged to contact jmota@salem.com so that information can be forwarded to those displaced.
The three-alarm fire broke out Saturday night and reignited early Sunday morning after fire crews departed, prompting the third alarm. It was believe to have started in the basement, according to media reports.

No injuries were report.
Salem fire officials said that it is believed the fire may have accidentally started in the area of the chimney or fireplace.

Cash donations are preferred as those can best utilize the available resources. Gift cards can also be dropped off at the Constituent Services Department of the Office of the Mayor, 93 Washington Street, City Hall, during regular business hours.

Donations are tax-deductible and all donated funds will be divided among the victims to help them find a new place to live.
