Salem Man Among Three Arrested After Armed Home Invasion in Waltham

A Waltham resident was pistol whipped and stunned with a stun gun during the incident, police said.

A Salem man is alleged to be one of five men who broke into both the front and back entrances of an apartment at 87 Chester Lane in Waltham at about 7:15 p.m. Friday and demanded money from the couple inside, according to Waltham Police.

The men held down the woman inside and pistol whipped the man with a handgun and stunned him with a stun gun when he didn’t comply with their demands, police said. The men also threatened to kill the couple, according to police.

Three men were arrested in Lynn after Lynn Police spotted a vehicle that matched the one in question – the male resident then identified the men as the suspects, police said.

- Michael Reyes, 19, of 54 Laighton St., Apt. 2, Lynn

- Cristian Colon-Gonzalez, 20, of 33 Park St., Apt. 3, Salem

- Jancarlos Hernandez-Rivera, 21, of 32 Common St., Apt. 2, Lynn

All three men were charged with:

- Home invasion while armed

- Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (six counts)

- Assault and battery on a pregnant woman

- Possession of an electric stun gun

- Carrying a firearm without a license

- Use of a firearm while committing a felony

- Threat to commit a crime (murder)

- Stealing by confining, injury or threat (two counts)

The male resident was treated and released at a local hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by Waltham Police.
