Salem Marine Quest Comes To Cat Cove Laboratory

SALEM, MA — A free, educational outdoor event examining the seacoast of Salem and its local fisheries is coming to Salem in June.

The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries is hosting the Marine Quest event on June 14 at the Cat Cove Marine Laboratory.

This event is designed to highlight local efforts to conserve our oceans and preserve sustainable fisheries for future generations.

During the festival, the public will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore exhibits on cutting-edge marine research in Massachusetts,
  • Learn about local marine life and visit touch tanks with live animals,
  • Dive into our commercial fisheries and sample local, sustainable seafood,
  • Take part in learn-to-fish clinics, short science lectures, games and activities, and more.

The Division of Marine Fisheries staff and partners, including University of Massachusetts-Boston, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Salem Sound Coast Watch, Essex County Sewerage District, and the Massachusetts Lobstermen's Association, are presenting Marine Quest at 92 Fort Avenue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
