Salem Police Get Little Help In Drive-by Shooting Investigation
An 18-year-old woman from Everett was injured in a weekend shooting on Chase Street in Salem.

SALEM, MA — Police are getting "limited cooperation" from witnesses to Saturday night's drive-by shooting on Chase Street in Salem. Salem police told the Boston Globe the shooting around 10:57 p.m. Saturday night left an 18-year-old Everett woman with non-life threatening injuries and appears to be in retaliation for "issues outside of the city of Salem." The woman was in the driveway of a friend, who police believe was the intended target of the shooters.
The woman was hit in the stomach but the bullet did not penetrate, police said. Salem police recovered five shell casings at the scene. Salem and Massachusetts State Police are investigating, but the person they believe was the intended target is "not cooperating," the newspaper said.
