Salem Schools Delaying Release Of Report Cards
Most students will get report cards three days later than expected, thanks to a system upgrade for the software teachers use to input grades
SALEM, MA — Salem students dreading their next report card are getting a three-day stay of parents' reactions. Salem Public Schools said Monday that Follett/Aspen, the company that makes software teachers use to record grades, is rolling out a system-wide upgrade this month. As a result, report cards are now expected to go out to most students on Dec. 16 instead of Dec. 13.
"With this impact in mind, we are adjusting the grading and report card schedule to allow our faculty proper time to access the system," the school system said in a notice. The delayed reports cards affect students in grades K through 8 in the following schools: ECC, Bates, CMS, HMLS, Salts, and WHES.
