Salem Tabernacle Congregational Church Celebrates 100th Anniversary
The church will hold a special anniversary event on Sunday at 3 p.m. with the public invited.

SALEM, MA — The Tabernacle Congregational United Church of Christ in Salem is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a special service at 50 Washington Street on Sunday.
The 3 p.m. service is designed to honor the church's rich heritage and the vibrant community it has fostered over the past century.
Tabernacle's roots are traced back to 1629, with this celebration an opportunity to reflect on that history, recognize achievements, and look forward to the future of the congregation.

Rev. Darrell Goodwin, the Executive Conference Minister of the United Church of Christ, will be the guest preacher for this occasion.
The Rev. Darrell L. Goodwin, a Chicago native, is the first Executive Conference Minister of the Southern New England Conference. He is also the first openly LGBT black person to serve as an Executive Conference Minister in the United Church of Christ.
