Salem's Derby Street Mile Returns For 16th Year In August
The road race tradition is set for Aug. 20 with a competitive night race followed by a family fun run.

SALEM, MA — Runners are once again taking the streets of downtown Salem in organized road races this summer.
This Friday, the "Miles Over The Moon" road race returns to Salem Common and the shoreline. On Aug. 20, the Derby Street Mile will be back for a 16th year after last year's coronavirus-related cancellation.
The Salem Park, Recreation & Community Services Department will host the race that begins with the competitive division at 7 p.m. followed by a family fun run at 7:15.

Trophies will go to the top male and female finishers in the competitive race with age group awards in various divisions. Medals will go to all children 12 years old and younger.
Salem Harbor Station is providing full sponsorship of the race.
