Second Salem Cannabis Shop Opens

SALEM, MA — The second of what will eventually be four recreational cannabis stores in Salem was scheduled to open on Monday. Insa opened its third recreational marijuana store in Massachusetts on Highland Avenue near the Lynn city line.

The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission approved Insa's license last month. Insa had originally hoped to open in September, but the Cannabis Control Commission pushed the hearing back to its October meeting.

Insa's opening comes a week after Salem and other Massachusetts communities were subpoenaed to turn over documents related to the host city agreements they signed with marijuana businesses. It's unclear what the federal grand jury is investigating.
