Service Returns After Water Main Break

Water service has returned to homes in a section of South Salem where a water main broke on Sunday.

It happened midday on Sunday and affected the so-called “Presidential streets” off Loring Avenue near the Forest River. Service was restored by 9 p.m. It was not immediately known how many homes and businesses were affected.

Water customers have been told that if they still see brown water after water service returned, they should not to use hot water and instead run cold water until it clears.
