Ugly Mug Puts 'New Face' on Diner Food, Named 'Hidden Jewel'

The Ugly Mug Diner on Washington Street was named an "Hidden Jewel" by Phantom Gourmet.

The Phantom Gourmet showed up recently at The Ugly Mug Diner on Washington Street, naming it a “Hidden Jewel.”

The restaurant review show on TV-38 found that the diner - one of the newer addition to the downtown restaurant scene - had lamps made from old coffee pots, a cowbell in the kitchen and “an impressive assortment of some of the ugliest mugs around” collected by owner Diane Wolf.
