Woman Tells Police Her Food Was Poisoned

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police log:
Tuesday, March 20
- At 5:07 p.m., police received a call about two pitbulls fighting on Boston Street. They were gone when Animal Control arrived.
- At 5:51 p.m., a resident reported their car had been broken into as it was parked in the driveway on Wall Street.
- At 6:26 p.m., police were called to a fight between a mother and daughter over homework.
- At 8:28 p.m., an undesirable was reported sleeping on the back deck of the
- At 8:48 p.m., a Washington Sq. resident reported his car was broken into.
- One person was brought to the hospital after a crash on Jefferson Avenue at 9:28 p.m.
- At 9:41 p.m., police were called to a Buffum Street apartment for possible trespassing in an empty apartment. A former tenant's son and a few friends were found in the apartment. The people told officers they were looking for a video game. They were issued no tresspass orders.

- Police responded to loud music complaints on Salem and Pope streets around 4 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.
- At 5:41 a.m., police assisted Salem State University Police with an arrest.
- At 5:58 a.m., a man was reported in the roadway at North and Commercial streets with no shoes on.
- At 9:46 a.m., police received a report that a man was slumped over the wheel of his car at Margin and Norman streets. The man was reading the paper when police arrived, waiting to get the mail.
- At 9:58 a.m., a nose bleed was reported on Congress Street.
- At 10:25 a.m., a business on Essex Street reported a suspicious man and woman in the store, possibly casing the place. They left when employees started following them.
- At 4:11 p.m., a person reported their purse was stolen while at
- At 6:57 p.m., a resident of Beaver Street reported they dug up a "suspicious bone." Police took a report.
- At 7:15 p.m., police were called to Essex Street for a person who believed her food had been poisoned.Â
The following people were arrested:
- Michael Joseph Mccausland, 33, 56 Margin St., was charged with trespassing.
- James R. Cloutman, 27, 5 Heritage Drive, was charged with illegal possession of class A drugs.
- Amanda Elizabeth Hadley, 32, 239 Jefferson Ave., was charged with illegal possession of class A drugs.
- Joshua Levi Maclean, 20, homeless in Salem, was charged with breaking and entering in the night to commit a misdemeanor and trespassing.
- Jacob Santiago, 26, 8 Stevens St., Peabody, was charged with driving without a license (subsequent offense), defective equipment and operating a motor vehicle with unnecessary noise.
- Wesley R. Smith III, 32, 12 Pope St., was arrested on a warrant.
